Collect availability before it turns into scheduling conflicts.
Managers make better schedules when employees provide availability in a consistent format. Use these fields to gather useful details without relying on scattered messages.
Supported in AppyShift
- Employees can submit an availability window with effective-from and effective-to dates.
- Each day records whether the employee is available and, when available, the start and end time.
- Employees can save scheduling preferences for preferred days, AM or PM timing, preferred shift length, and notes.
- Availability requests can require manager approval or become active immediately when auto-approval is enabled.
Effective date range
Start with the date the new availability takes effect and the date it ends. AppyShift stores each submission as a dated availability request rather than silently replacing all future history.
Weekly availability grid
For each day, record available or unavailable status plus start and end times when the employee can work. Approved windows become the availability managers reference during scheduling.
Saved schedule preferences
Collect preferred days, preferred time of day (`AM`, `PM`, or any), preferred shift length, and an optional preference note. These are preferences for staffing decisions, not guaranteed assignments.
Review behavior
Choose whether employee submissions become active immediately or remain pending for manager approval. AppyShift notifies employees after an approved or denied review when email notifications are available.
