What employees can do

Employees use AppyShift to see their schedule, ask for time off, update their availability, complete onboarding tasks, read company documents and announcements, and clock in when your company allows it.

Turn tools on or off

  1. Select Settings > Time & Scheduling, then Time Clock & Requests. The page is called Time Clock & Employee Requests.
  2. Turn on only what your company wants employees to use. The page has a tab for each kind of tool:
    • Time clock: the Employee web time clock, location checks at clock-in and shift-aware punch rules.
    • Shared kiosk: the Shared time clock kiosk.
    • Missed punches & manual time: Employee missed punch and correction requests and the manual time entry form.
    • Call-outs & open shifts: Employee self-service call-outs, with a minimum notice, and picking up posted shifts.
    • Time off & availability: Employee time-off tools (requests, and whether employees see their balances) and Employee availability requests and preferences.
  3. Select Save Settings. It saves every tab at once.
Tip

Start with a small group. Ask two or three employees to sign in, check their schedule and send one request. Then fix any wording that confused them before you invite everyone.
