Get the AppyShift app and turn on notifications

On iPhone, install AppyShift from the App Store, sign in, and allow alerts so you hear about shift changes and messages. The Android app is on its way; use your phone's web browser until then.

Install the app on iPhone

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for AppyShift, and install it.
  2. Open the app and sign in with the same work email and password you use on the website. If your account is linked to more than one employer, choose one.
  3. When the app asks Turn on schedule alerts?, select Allow Alerts. Then select Allow when your iPhone asks.
  4. If the app asks Set Up Face ID for faster sign-in?, select Set Up Face ID to skip typing your password next time, or Not Now.

You now get notifications about shift changes, pickup requests, call-outs and messages in your inbox. Everything else works the same as on the website.

Turn on notifications later

  1. In the app, select Me.
  2. Under Mobile App Settings, find Push notifications.
  3. Select Enable notifications and allow them. If it says Off, notifications are blocked on your iPhone: open the iPhone's settings app, go to Apps, AppyShift, Notifications, and turn on Allow Notifications.

To check that it works, select Send test notification.

Choose which alerts you get

  1. Select Me, then scroll to Account Alerts.
  2. Under Push alerts, check the kinds of alerts you want on your phone, like Schedule and shift alerts or Time-off updates. Under Email alerts, do the same for email.
  3. Select Save Alert Preferences.

Every alert also stays in your Inbox, whatever you choose here. The mail icon in the top right opens your messages and to-do items; a badge means something is waiting for you.

Note

The AppyShift Android app isn't ready yet. Until it is, open your phone's web browser, like Chrome, go to appyshift.com/portal/login and sign in. Everything in this help center works there too. You get your alerts in your inbox and by email, and by text if you turn on text alerts.

Remove an old phone

Select Me and scroll to Mobile Devices. Under Notification devices, select Remove next to a phone you don't use anymore. Under Saved mobile sign-ins, select Revoke so that phone needs your password again.
